4 tourists, one local injured in separate mishaps on Gulmarg road
Srinagar Dec 24: Four tourists were injured when a cab they travelling in skidded off the road and overturned at the tourist resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.
A police official said the cab met with the accident near a hotel, resulting into injuries to the tourists identified as Sania Hyder, Syed Mohammad Kumail, Syed Wasi Hyder and Midhat Fatima – all from Kolkata in West Bengal.
Sania, who suffered head injuries in the accident, has been referred to a Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment, as per the official.
Meanwhile, one civilian was injured in yet another accident on the same road.
Sources said that due to slippery road condition, a vehicle (Thar) fell of the road at Zig Mor while coming down from Gulmarg to Tangmarg.
One person, Mohammad Ashraf was injured in the accident.
Tangmarg Police has been repeatedly asking people to keep in consideration the slippery condition of the road and follow all requisite precautions.
