Cluster University Sgr gets maiden Chief Proctor

SRINAGAR: The Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Qayyum Husain has nominated Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik as the first Chief Proctor of the varsity.

Dr. Malik is currently posted at Govt. College for Women, M.A. Road, Srinagar as Associate Professor in the Functional English department. Besides heading the department of Functional English, he also serves as Coordinator Examinations in the college.

Dr. Malik comes with a rich academic and administrative experience having served as Coordinator IGNOU and convener of other important college committees in the past.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor assigned the duties of Dean Students Welfare to Dr. Shabnam Ara.

Ever since, assuming the charge as Vice Chancellor, Prof. Husain ordered the setting up of several centralized committees to improve the administrative and academic functioning of the university.

These committees include ‘Sensitization, Prevention and Redressal of Sexual Harassment’ (SPARASH) Committee with Prof. Ruhi Jan Kanth (Principal, IASE, Srinagar) as its Chairperson and Sports & Games Committee with Tariq Ahmad Ashai as Secretary.

The other committees include ‘Innovation & Intellectual Property Cell’ with Dr. Nikhat Nabi as Coordinator; ‘Guidance, Counselling & Coaching Cell’ with Mujeeb Ahmad Kawoosa as Coordinator; ‘Extension & Outreach Activities’ with Dr. Rifat Anjum as Coordinator; ‘Solid Waste & Plastic Management Committee’ with Dr. Behjat Huma as Coordinator and ‘Placement & Induction Cell’ with Dr. Suhail Ahmad as Coordinator.
