Police organises drug de-addiction prog in Sopore

Srinagar: Police in collaboration with DFK (Drug Free Kashmir) organised a drug de-addiction programme in Sopore.

SDPO Sopore Furkan Qadir-JKPS and SHO Sopore also participated in the event. The main aim of the programme was to disseminate awareness regarding drug de-addiction among the people.

The participants included students and respectables of the area marched together from SRM WET Sopore to Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sopore where a seminar was held.

Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Sopore sought the cooperation of people in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly drug de-addiction. He also highlighted the role of parents and said that parents had a greater responsibility in social development of a child as they act as the first teacher and guide of their wards. He further said that to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, public cooperation is necessary and Police is always available for help to those who are victims of this addiction and will make all possible efforts to help and rehabilitate those affected persons.

On the occasion, the other prominent speakers also briefed the participants about their role as parents in enriching the mental and physical health of their wards. They also spoke about preventive measures and hailed the role of J&K Police in the prevention of drug addiction.
