Srinagar: Five more persons in Jammu and Kashmir succumbed to COVID-19 pandemic in the last 24 hours even as 133 fresh cases of the infection were reported during this period, officials said Thursday.

Of the five deaths, four were reported from Kashmir and one from the Jammu division while as 102 of the new infections were from Kashmir, and 31 from the Jammu division, they said.

They also said 139 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 120 from Kashmir and 19 from the Jammu division.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today – as on date the total number of confirmed cases remains 50 across J&K, officials said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 58,662 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,74,53,078.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,39,404 positive cases reported cumulatively so far in J&K, currently there are 1,435 active positive cases across the UT, including 1,077 in Kashmir and 358 in Jammu division, while as 3,33,461 persons have recovered and 4,508 have died – 2,316 in Kashmir and 2,192 in Jammu division.
