Machhal : To commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, Vijay Diwas was celebrated at Machhal, Kamkari, and T Suntwari villages with solemn reverence and patriotic fervour, by villagers and jawans in solidarity, said PRO defence.
“Homage was paid to all the soldiers who laid down their lives defending the nation in the battle,” the PRO said.
“The celebrations in the Macchal Sector comprised of hoisting the national flag and wreath laying by villagers and army and police personnel.NCC cadets presented a guard of honour and motivational lectures and screening of documentary on the significance of Vijay Diwas were also held,” he said.
“A total of 350 civilians and 50 NCC cadets of Machhal Bowl enthusiastically attended the celebrations. All present pledged to rededicate themselves in the service of the nation,” he added.
