The vibrant Dubai witnessed three major/mega-events during the last three months of the year 2021: the IPL Cricket Series, the World Cup-Cricket and the Dubai Expo 2020. The Dubai Expo is still going on and will run till 31st March 22nd. Originally this mega-event was scheduled to commence from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the UAE, and elsewhere, new dates were programmed and thus the world’s largest event got underway. This time the World Expo in Dubai is being organised under the theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.’ It is believed that through this theme, Expo Dubai 20 will serve as a catalyst: bringing together talent, entrepreneurs from all over the world, connecting more businessmen and setting the background for all to tackle the common challenges of the world, especially during the pandemic of COVID-19.

It has been, really, a pleasure to visit this beautiful event, more especially for the suggestiveness it carries:  leave no one behind, build bridges, move forward together, maintain balance and explore and study the great challenges humanity is facing today. Expo Dubai 20 is a wonderful amalgamation of technology, innovation and diverse cultural heritage of various participating countries. In this world-class event, 192 countries are exhibiting their art, culture, scientific, and commercial achievements in their respective pavilions quite inventively and artistically. The theme of this year’s Expo Dubai ‘Connecting Minds and Creating the Future’ is, indeed, well-conceived and speaks a lot about the foresightedness of the organisers of the event.

Free entry to Expo came as a big relief to senior citizens for the VIP/courteous treatment they received at every point of the walking into the pavilions. Great, indeed!
