Symposia honoring Prof Dr. Mashal Sultanpuri organisaed in Baramulla

Baramulla: Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Adbee Markaz Kamraz, Jammu and Kashmir, organised a symposium on the veteran poet, critic, scholar and writer- Prof Dr. Mashal Sultanpuri at Kanispora Baramulla.

Presided over by well-known theatre Director, playwright and President Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK), M Amin Bhat, the function was attended by several luminaries including broadcaster and farmer Secretary J&K Cultural Academy, Dr Rafiq Masoodi who was the Guest of Honour.

General Secretary Adbee Markaz Kamraz and Member Kashmiri Advisory Board Shabnam Tilgami presented vote of thanks on the occasion, he also conducted the proceeding of the program.

The Convener- Kashmiri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akdami Board- Mr Gh Nabi Aatish, in his online message paid rich tributes to prof Mashal Sultanpuri and said that his contributions to Kashmiri language and literature would be remembered for their indelible marks and incredible imprints.

The other speakers remembered Dr Mashal Sultanpuri for his contribution to Kashmiri language and literature, highlighting his contributions not only in the fields of language and literature but also his vital role in over all development of the society and in developing the educationally backward areas. They also remembered him as the best teacher of his times and a social reformer par excellence.

In his presidential remarks AMK president M Amin Bhat said that Mashal Sultanpori was a cultural icon whose mission needed to be taken forward for which AMK under the patronage of Sahitya Akademi shall continue to work dedicatedly.

Others who spoke on the occasion included  Convener Kashmiri Advisory Board Mr Gh Nabi Aatish, Fayaz Tilgami, Shahid Delnavi , Shabir Ahmad Shabir, Gh Ahamad Dildar, Shabnam Tilgami, Dr Shaista Ahmad (Member Kashmiri Advisory Board), Mansoor Muntazir, Prof Shugufta Nasreen and Masood Shadab.

Dr Rafiq Masoodi besides paying rich tributes to Mashal sahib congratulated Sahitya Akademi for holding such an important symposium.

Former convener of Sahitya Akdami Kashmiri Advisory Board Dr Aziz Hajini was also remembered on the occasion.
