Gojri writer and poet Iqbal Azeem Choudhary passes away
Srinagar, Dec 12: Noted Gojri language poet and writer Iqbal Azeem Choudhary passed away on Sunday at his home in Udder Baba Nagri area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Choudhary was unwell for some time and breathed his last on early Sunday morning. He was the paternal uncle of former minister and senior National Conference leader Mian Altaf Ahmed.
Choudhary was a noted and distinguished Gojri language poet, writer and broadcaster who worked in various capacities in Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages including editor for decades for promotion and preservation of Gojri language , culture and literature.
He has authored a number of books in Urdu, Punjabi and Gojri and edited a number of titles and periodicals in different languages, published by the J&KAACL.
His demise is being widely condoled.
