J&K records 60 COVID-19 deaths, 4,788 fresh cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s coronavirus caseload increased to 3,36,852 on Tuesday with 171 fresh infections, while the death toll remained unchanged at 4,476, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 139 were from the Kashmir and 32 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 62, followed by 42 in Baramulla district.

Officials also said that 172 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 150 from Kashmir and 22 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

There are 49 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory. No fresh case has been reported since last evening, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on coronavirus informed that 52,425 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 1,66,25,485.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,36,852 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,625 active positive cases across J&K, including 1,334 in Kashmir and 291 in Jammu division, while as 3,30,751 persons have recovered and 4,476 have died – 2,291 in Kashmir and 2,185 in Jammu division.
