DGP Sanctions Rs 49 lakh special welfare relief in favour of NOKs of deceased Police Personnel

Jammu, November 24: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyred and deceased Police personnel/SPOs, the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 49 lakh special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel vide different orders of PHQ.

Under an order Rupees 22 lakh special welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SgCt. Tanveer Ahmad who expired due to illness.

Under another order of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Rupees five Lakh each in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPOs Imtiyaz Ahmad, Pritam Chand, Daya Krishan and Mudasir Fayaz. Rupees six lakh has been sanctioned in favour of NOK of deceased SPO Rattan Chand. These personnel have passed away during the course of their engagement with the department.

Pertinent to mention that Police headquarters has sanctioned over Rupees 40 crore as Ex-gratia and Special welfare relief in favour of martyred/ deceased police personnel during this year till today.  Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired police personnel and their spouses.
