Body of youth recovered from Jhelum

Srinagar: The body of a 27-year-old non-local resident, who had allegedly jumped into the river 18 days ago, was on Thursday recovered from river Jhelum in Gasi Mohalla locality of Safakadal in downtown Srinagar.

Quoting official sources, news agency KNO reported that the body of youth from West Bengal, was found floating in Jhelum river by locals this afternoon.

The body was fished out and later handed to local police for medico-legal formalities, an official said adding that the boy had jumped into river Jhelum near Zero bridge, Srinagar on November 07 at around 4 pm.

A case under section 309 has been registered at Police Station Kothi Bagh and further investigations are on.
