Srinagar Admin clears ‘Right of Way’ for prestigious ₹ 10 Cr project of Noor Jehan Bridge

SRINAGAR: In order to expedite the ongoing work on prestigious Project of Noor Jehan Bridge at Qamarwari over River Jhelum being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 10 crore, the District Administration Srinagar today undertook a massive anti encroachment drive at Noorbagh and demolished several structures which were impediment in the completion of the project.

The anti-encroachment drive was launched on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad under the supervision of Tehsildar, Eidgah, Ishfaq Ahmad Khan.

The encroachment was a bottleneck in the timely completion of the Noor Jehan Bridge and by removing these illegal constructions long pending demand of people is near to completion.

As soon as the Bridge is made operational of vehicular traffic it will help a lot in traffic regulation and overcoming traffic Jams.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, a team of Revenue Department headed by Tehsildar Eidgah also carried a surprise inspection of Khushaal Sar and found new illegal construction around the historic water body.

The team took serious cognizance of the encroachments and lodged an FIR against the violators besides seized construction material and Mixer and Vehicle being used for illegal construction.
