“Within hours of the receipt of eviction notice, the newspaper started shifting from the premises. The newspaper has been operating from the Partap Park since early nineties,” sources said.

It may be mentioned here that the UT government has already stopped placing its advertisements with Greater Kashmir for more than two years now.

Even before Greater Kashmir, the government had stopped advertisements to Kashmir Reader, another daily newspaper published from Srinagar, a ban that has not been lifted.

Since September, Kashmir Life is also not getting any government advertisement. Early this week, the government stopped advertisements to Kashmir Images, another Srinagar based newspaper, as well.
