Srinagar: Aaqib Fayaz, an independent filmmaker from Sopore area of north Kashmir, has won the DW Akademie competition for his short film on the revival of lakes in Kashmir.
The competition was organised by DW Akademie on the theme “The great rivers of the Indo-Pacific – lifelines and source of conflicts,” and supported by the German Federal Foreign.
A total of 12 participants all over India took part in the workshop.
Aaqib Fayaz has completed his masters in Convergent Journalism Jamia Millia Islamia.
“My short film was about the revival of dying lakes in Kashmir. An initiative taken by Divisional Commissioner along with Manzoor Ahmad Wagnoo, head Nigeen Lakes Water Conservation Group,” said Aaqib.
