Chief Justice inaugurates Pictorial Exhibition of JKLSA

Jammu/Srinagar: As part of Pan India Legal Awareness and Outreach Campaign, Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority organized “Pictorial Exhibition” at Jammu and Srinagar displaying the Legal Aid System and activities of Legal Services Institutions across the UT of J&K.

Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Patron-in-Chief, J&K Legal Services Authority, Pankaj Mithal, inaugurated the exhibition at Kala Kendra Jammu.

Likewise, the similar exhibition was inaugurated at Old Legislative Complex, Srinagar by Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh & Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey.

The Judges of the High Court were also present on the occasion at Jammu as well as at Srinagar.

The objective of this Pictorial Exhibition was to make the general public especially the students aware about the functioning of Legal Services Institutions. Besides, various legal service activities being taken up by the Legal Services Institutions and their historical perspective of Legal Services Institutions were displayed in the exhibition.

Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, while speaking on the occasion, said that such exhibitions are a powerful tool of awareness and a platform to make the people understand about the legal services who have little or no knowledge of these vital services and its institutions.

Prominent among those who visited the photo gallery during the day included D C Raina, Advocate General J&K, M K Bharadwaj, President, J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu, Achal Sethi, Secretary, Department of Law & Justice, officers of High Court Registry, officers from civil and police administration, members of the bar including Panel Lawyers, students from various law colleges and schools of Jammu and Srinagar.

Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, M K Sharma, appreciated the cooperation extended by Department of Information, Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and Department of Archives in organizing the event.
