The meeting was informed by the DYSSOs that they and their allied staff are in constant touch with various construction agencies for early completion of various undertaken works.

The DYSSOs also brought in the notice of the chair that every possible step is being taken to ensure the best quality of the works being carried-out by different construction agencies.

Few district officers also raised some issues pertaining to the construction of playfields in their concerned districts and expressed their concerns about the unnecessary delay due to the no serious approach of certain elements of some construction agencies in carrying-out the allotted works.

Gazanfar Ali while listening to the factual and actual status of works, action taken in the implementation of different programmes and the concerns raised by the field officers about the callous approach by some officers in the pace of work on different pay fields etc, directed all the DYSSOs that they should ensure that the works are being executed by the concerned construction agencies as per the laid down norms and there should be no deviation from the approved DPRs/estimates.

While responding to the concerns of some DYSSOs about the slow pace of work and delay in the execution by certain officers, he said that such issues shall be taken up with the District Development Commissioners of the concerned Districts.

The Director also stressed upon the field officers to ensure the serious implementation of the already issued calendar of activities with a special focus on the proper implementation of Covid-19 related SOPs during the conduct of various sports activities.

He expressed his joy over the serious and very encouraging efforts of the field staff of the Department in carrying-out the activities under Clean India Mission throughout J&K on mission mode. He congratulated all the DYYSSOs for putting serious efforts in implementing such schemes and programmes in the most effective manner.

He further stated that the three best performing districts would be felicitated for implementing Clean India programme in letter and spirit as the performance of all the 20 districts of J&K is being judged by a UT level committee headed by Principal Secretary to Government Youth Services and Sports Department.

Among others, Joint Director, Kashmir, Bashir Ahmed, Accounts Officer, Mohammad Hussain and Sectional Officer attended the meeting.
