Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 98 fresh cases of COVID-19  and one virus-related fatality, officials said.

They said of the fresh cases, 91 were reported from Kashmir and seven from Jammu division, while the single virus-relate fatality was also recorded in the Valley.

Moreover, 72 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 57 from Kashmir and 15 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, they said.

They also informed that no new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) has been reported today — the total number of confirmed cases detected so far across the UT remains 49.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 72,446 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here so far to 14,458,015.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,31,963 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 863 active positive cases across the UT including 750 in Kashmir and 113 in Jammu division, while as 3,26,668  persons have recovered and 4,432 have died – 2,256 in Kashmir and2,176 in Jammu division.
