Srinagar: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting of all District/Sectoral Officers to review the status and progress of works taken under District Capex Plan for year 2021-22. He also took stock of the implementation of various Centrally sponsored schemes.

The meeting held detailed discussion of all developmental works including Mega projects taken under the District Capex Plan targeted for completion in the current fiscal, besides progress of works under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner directed the officers to work in coordinated manner with line departments and work with synergy to achieve development goals well in time keeping in view the limited working season to cater the developmental needs of the district with focus on creating tangible assets.

The DDC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of ongoing works for their time-bound completion. He also cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within the fixed time line will not be tolerated at all.

He also exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources. He also stressed on maintaining transparency and accountability in the implementation of the District plan.

Earlier, the Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yaseen Lone gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation and it was given out that the focus area of District Capex Budget 2021-22 has been the empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions at the grass-roots level. It was also informed that the focused attention was also given to take up the works having visible impact on ground for larger public benefits.

He apprised the meeting about the sector wise funds allocation and highlighted the achievements made under different sectors including PHE, PDD, R&B, Education, Health, MGNREGA, NRLM, Social Welfare, ICDS, Youth Services & Sports and other sectors, besides other Social Security schemes.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Gulzar Ahmad, DPO, ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, Superintendent Engineers of R&B, PDD, UEED, ERA & PMGSY, Deputy Director Employment, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Panchayat Officer and other District/Sectoral Officers were present in the meeting.
