ACS inaugurates online registration portal for JK Medical Council

JAMMU: Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Vivek Bharadwaj, today inaugurated Online Registration Portal of JK Medical Council, (www.jkmedicalcouncil.in), a body for registration of Doctors.

This is a major initiative launched by the H&ME Department under the guidance of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) after taking over the charge of the Department. The whole process has been designed taking into account the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), a major reform initiated by the J&K government headed by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj  Sinha.

The portal will enable the applicants submit their application online, make online payment and get delivery of their provisional, permanent and additional certificates online. Besides, other documents such as No Objection Certificate, Good Standing Certificates, Duplicate Certificate, Verifications, CME registration can also be obtained online itself. Also, internal operations of the Council such as seeking verification, Registrar Approval and President’s approval will also be done on the Portal with due process.

After reconstitution of JK Medical Council, committees have been constituted in the JK Medical Council including Academic Committee headed by Dr Mohammad Iqbal Sofi, Medical Superintendent, GMC Anantnag, Ethics cum Grievance Committee headed by Dr  Chanderlekha and Disciplinary Committee headed by Dr Rajeshwar Sharma, Medical Superintendent, CD Hospital, Jammu.

The newly reconstituted council would be headed by Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Director General, Health and Family Welfare, J&K and will comprise of Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Sofi, Medical Superintendent GMC Anantnag, Dr. Rajeshwar Sharma, Medical Superintendent CD Hospital Jammu and Dr. Chanderlekha, Former District Health Officer Jammu as its members.

The Council will work both at Gandhi Nagar in Jammu and Bemina in Srinagar.
