J&K records 60 fresh cases of COVID-19, one related death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported 60 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), while one person from Jammu division succumbed to the viral infection, officials said.

They said of the fresh cases, 51 were reported from Kashmir and none from the Jammu division – taking the cumulative tally of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3,31,698.

Moreover, 90 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 67 from Kashmir and 23 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They also said that no new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today — total number of confirmed cases detected thus far in J&K remains at 49.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 66,578 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here to 14,257,895.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,31,698 positive cases detected so far, currently there are 835 active positive  cases across J&K, including 706 in Kashmir and 129 in Jammu division, while as 3,26,433 persons have recovered and 4,430 have died – 2,254 in Kashmir and 2,176 in Jammu division.
