Militant associate arrested in Baramulla: Police
Srinagar: Police alongwith security forces have arrested a “terrorist associate” linked with TRF (LeT) in Baramulla and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
“Baramulla Police along with Army & CRPF arrested a terrorist associate linked with proscribed terror outfit TRF (LeT) at Kitchama,” police spokesman while identifying the arrested person as Farooq Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Mohammad Malik, resident of Kitchama, Baramulla.
Incriminating materials including a Chinese hand-grenade, two pistol magazines and 16 live pistol rounds were recovered from his possession, spokesman said.
“The arrested terrorist associate was in close contact with an active terrorist namely Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Shrakwara Kreeri and was providing the logistic and other material support to him,” spokesman said.
A case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated.
