Srinagar, Oct 22: National Investigating Agency (NIA) conducted raids across six Valley districts Friday and arrested eight accused persons for their alleged complicity in providing logistical support to the militants.

In a press release here, the NIA said raids were conducted at 10 locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramulla districts and eight accused persons were arrested.

The arrested persons were identified as Adil Ahmad War, Manan Gulzar Dar,  Sobhia, and Zamin Adil from Srinagar, Hilal Ahmed Dar and Shaqib Bashir from Kupwara, Rouf Bhatt from Anantnag; and Haris Nisar Langoo.

According to the NIA press release, the case relates to “conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities, by cadres of proscribed terrorist organisations Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF), etc.”

NIA said the raids and arrests were made in connection with the case (RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI registered on October 10, 2021, and so far 13 accused persons have been arrested.

“Electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents, posters, etc., have been seized today during the searches,” the NIA said.

It said the eight accused persons arrested are “terror operatives of various proscribed terrorist organisations and have been instrumental in providing logistical and material support to terrorists.”

Further investigation in the case continues, NIA said.
