3 dead, 1 critical after boundary wall collapses in Awantipora

Srinagar:  Amid incessant rain since last evening, three people lost their lives while one is critical after a boundary wall collapsed in Kanji Nag area of Noorpora Awantipora hamlet in South Kashmir Pulwama district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a wall collapsed in Kanji Nag area injuring four nomadic people after their make shift tents came under the debris.

He said that soon after the reports police, CRPF and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.

“All the four were rescued and were referred to a Srinagar hospital for better treatment, but unfortunately 3 of them succumbed on the way, while another one is critical, ” an official said.

Three people that lost their lives have been identified Irshad Bargud, Mahnaz Akhter, and
Wahab Jan. All the deceased belong to the Reasi district of Jammu.

Meanwhile, officials said that the debris clearing process is going on and arrangements are being made to shift the families to safer places—(KNO)
