J&K records 87 fresh cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 87 fresh cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), officials said, adding that no new virus related death was reported across the UT.

Of the fresh cases, officials said 74 were reported from Kashmir and 13 from the Jammu division.

Moreover, 73 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 63 from Kashmir and 10 from Jammu division, in the last 24 hours.

They also said no new case of mucormycosis (Black fungus) was reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases so far across J&K remains at 49.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 88,835 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here so far to 14,028,603.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,31,386 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 814 active positive cases in J&K, including 684 in Kashmir and 130 in Jammu division, while as 3,26,143 persons have recovered and 4,429 have died – 2,254 in Kashmir and 2,175 in Jammu division.
