Union MoS Shantanu Thakur lays foundation of Oxygen Plant at Achabal

Anantnag: Union Minister of State for Shipping, Ports and Waterways, Shantanu Thakur, today laid the foundation of a 500 LPM oxygen plant at NTPHC Achabal Anantnag, which is scheduled to be completed in 2.5 months.

The minister was also apprised about the vaccination drive in the district and informed that 11 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 6 months with record 29000 vaccines doses administered on a single day.

Interacting with health care workers, the Minister congratulated the medical fraternity for their concerted efforts towards vaccination. He appreciated the work undertaken by the doctors and health workers who made it possible to administer 1 billion vaccine doses in the country. He felicitated the Health Care workers for their excellent contribution. He also commended the district administration for ensuring vaccination in far-flung areas with mountainous terrains.

Earlier the Minister visited Martand Sun temple, one of the oldest surviving sun temples in the world. The minister passed directions to the district administration to take necessary steps to bring the temple on the tourist map. He said the temple is an important archaeological monument and its tourist potential can boost the local economy of adjoining areas.

The Minister was accompanied by DC Anantnag Piyush Singla, ADDC Anantnag, CMO Anantnag and other senior officers of the district administration.
