‘GOC Chinar Corps, all ranks lay wreath on mortal remains of Sep Karnveer Singh’

Srinagar: GOC Chinar Corps and all ranks laid a wreath on the mortal remains of the braveheart, Sep Karnveer Singh of RAJPUT, posted with 44 Rashtriya Rifles, at Chinar Corps War Memorial, said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“Late Sep Karnveer Singh was part of an Operation Dragar, Chillipora, District Shopian on 20 October 2021. Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists, a joint cordon and search operation was launched on the morning of 20 October 2021. In the firefight with the terrorists, Late Sep Karnveer Singh was grievously injured and later succumbed to his injuries. Two terrorists were neutralized and An AK rifle, one UBGL and other war-like stores were recovered during the encounter. The terrorists have been identified by the Jammu & Kashmir Police as Adil Wani R/o Heff Shirmal and Sakir Ahmad Wani, R/o Litter,” the PRO said.

“The Braveheart, Late Sep Karnveer Singh, 44 Rashtriya Rifles was 25 years old and had joined Indian Army on 06 Oct 2015. He hails from Village Daldal, PO – Daldal, Tehsil – Ramur Baghelan, District – Satna (Madhya Pradesh) and is survived by his mother,” he said.

“The mortal remains of Late Sep Karnveer Singh has been taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and wellbeing,” he added.
