DC hands over BLS ambulance to CMO Srinagar

Srinagar:  The Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar, on Wednesday flagged off two ambulances equipped with Basic Life Support (BLS) from Tourist Reception Center, Srinagar in presence of Executive Director, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Gurjeet Singh Kambo.

The NHIDCL handed over the ambulances equipped with basic life support for district Srinagar and Baramulla as Corporate Social Responsibility.

The ambulances flagged off shall operate in district Srinagar and Baramulla while a similar facility was extended to Ganderbal in January 2021 besides two life support ambulances were also donated to Baramulla and Anantnag on 26th April 2021, Executive Director said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Commissioner appreciated the contribution of NHIDCL and said that NHIDCL is always ready to ensure medical comfort to the residents of Kashmir valley especially during the trying times of current Covid-19 situation.

NHIDCL is engaged in infrastructure development by constructing tunnels like Z-Morh and Zojila which will boost the tourism and economic growth due to all weather connectivity besides it could be used for strategic purposes, an officer of NHIDCL said and added that apart from these two prestigious projects, NHIDCL is also executing projects in Anantnag and Baramulla district for road infrastructure development.

Among others, officials from NHIDCL, General Manager Land Acquisition, Alok Saxena and Deputy General Manager were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar handed over a fully loaded Basic Lift Support (BLS) Ambulance to Chief Medical Officer Srinagar at DC Office Complex here.

The Ambulance was dedicated by National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) Government of India under CSR for the use of Patients and Trauma cases.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Ambulance will help to provide people on-time medical services and will make medical care accessible to the patients.

On the occasion, CMO Srinagar expressed his gratitude to DC Srinagar and officials of NHIDCL. He said the Ambulance will prove highly beneficial in providing better healthcare to the patients in the district.

Among others, General Manager NHIDCL, Alok Saxena, CMO, Srinagar, Dr Jameel Ahmad and other concerned were present on the occasion.
