Militant involved in PSI’s killing killed in Bemina gunfight: IGP
Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Friday said militant who was “involved” in killing of a police officer PSI Arshid Ahmad near Khaniyar has been killed in Bemina encounter.

The gunfight had started between militants and joint team of police and CRPF in Bemina area of Srinagar district a short while ago, police had said.
It said a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Bemina.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
“Encounter has started at Bemina area of Srinagar. Srinagar Police on the job. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet earlier.
