Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 82 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection, taking the tally to 3,30,434, while no fresh death due to the virus was reported from the Union territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the 82 new cases, 69 were reported from Kashmir and 13 from Jammu division, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 34 cases followed by 12 cases in Budgam district.

Moreover, 81 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 64 from Kashmir and 17 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Meanwhile, there are 46 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union territory as no fresh case was reported since Friday evening, they added.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 1,50,134 doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 12,885,390. It adds that 95.90 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir so far.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,30,434 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,100 active positive cases across the UT, including 804 in Kashmir and 294 in Jammu division, while as 3,24,908 persons have recovered – 2,03,304 in Kashmir and 1,21,604 in Jammu division — and 4,426 have died – 2,252 in Kashmir and 2,174 in Jammu division.
