PCCF chairs 7th SLC meet on WBI

Srinagar: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Dr. Mohit Gera, today chaired the 7th State Level Committee (SLC) meeting on Wood Based Industries (WBI) at Forest Complex Sheikh Bagh here.

During the meeting, 108 cases of Wood Based Industries were scrutinised and approved for issuance of Licences, including 96 Cricket Bat Units in South Circle.

The SLC also discussed the enhancement of capacity of existing Saw Mills and it was decided to address the issue after assessment of their consumption of raw materials.

During the meeting, the Conservators were directed to provide the assessment of consumption of raw materials by these units by ending October 2021 in their respective jurisdiction on division wise basis for placing the same before next SLC meeting.

Notable to mention, with the approval of 108 units, the aspirations of genuine entrepreneurs have been addressed and it shall play a positive role in addressing the supply of finished wood products to the people.

The SLC meeting was attended in virtual mode by Addl. PCCF (C), C.D Singh; MD SFC, Vasu Yadav; Addl. PCCF Kashmir, T. Rabi Kumar; CCF Jammu, K. Ramesh Kumar; CF North Circle, Irfan Rasool Wani; CF South Circle, Tawheed Deva and CF Srinagar Circle, Zubair Ahmad Shah attended the meeting in person and through video conferencing.
