Srinagar: At least 16 sheep belonging to a Bakerwal family from Poonch were crushed to death by a speeding tipper truck in Newa area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, police said.
A police official from Police Station Pulwama said that the hit-and-run accident took place this morning while the Bakerwal family was on way to Poonch from upper reaches of the south Kashmir district. At least 16 sheep were crushed to death by the truck, he said.
The official further informed that police have identified two suspects during preliminary investigation, and that their arrest is expected soon.
