Valedictory function of Range Level Volley ball, Kho-Kho tournaments held at Srinagar

Srinagar:  As part of ongoing country-wide celebrations of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav”, today valedictory function cum finals of Range Level Volleyball & Kho-Kho tournament were played at Sri Pratap College Srinagar.

The event was organised by Range Police Headquarters, Srinagar under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and witnessed an overwhelming response of the youth from Central Kashmir Range.

The final matches were played between Budgam Vs Srinagar in volleyball & Srinagar Vs Ganderbal in the Kho-Kho games.

At the valedictory function, Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar Sajjad K Bhat attended the ceremony. SDPO Kothibagh, DySP Hqrs Srinagar and other Officers of Range Police Headquarters also attended the function.

The final match of volleyball was played between District Budgam and District Srinagar in which District Budgam emerged as winners by defeating District Srinagar, whereas District Srinagar defeated District Ganderbal in the final match of Kho-Kho.

While speaking at the valedictory function, Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar said that J&K Police is organizing various sports events for youth and together we are working for peace and unity, which is our joint responsibility.

He also congratulated the winner and runner-up teams. He appreciated the organizing committee and other partner agencies for the successful conduct of the mega event. He also hailed media fraternity for covering the event with wide publicity. He said that the excitement and response shown by the players in the event is appreciable and J&K Police has always been on the forefront in providing platform to youth and guide them in following their goals by organizing different events. The Staff Officer to DIG CKR has also advised youth to stay away from the menace of drug addiction and other social crimes.

Later, he presented trophies, certificates and medals to the winner and runner-up teams.

Pertinently, the Festival commenced on 21st September at the playground of Sri Pratap College Srinagar.

The participants thanked J&K Police for providing platform for the youth in order to show their talent and expressed their hope that such events will be organised in future also.
