Srinagar: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh, has sanctioned rupees 1.50 lakh in favour of NoK’s of such 15 police personnel/ SPOs.

He has also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 3.25 lakh in favour of retired/NoK’s of deceased police personnel.

“The relief is a part of welfare measures and to assist financially the NoK’s of martyr Police personnel including SPOs who had laid down their lives in terrorist-related incidents during the period September 2020 to August 2021,” said a police spokesperson.

“Vide order no. 2904 of 2021 financial assistance of rupees 10 thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of NoK’s of martyrs Inspts. Mohd Ashraf, and  Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, SgCts Manzoor Ahmad, and Mohd Yousf, Cts. Altaf Hussain, Ashfaq Ahmad, Suhail Mushtaq, Rameez Raja, Showkat Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Javid Hussain, and Nissar Ahmad, SPOs Mohd. Altaf, Shafat Nazir Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat. The amount has been given out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund,” the spokesperson said.

“The amount will be presented to them on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, being observed on 21st October 2021,” he said.

“Meanwhile, a welfare relief of rupees 3.25 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of thirteen retired/NoKs of deceased police personnel for the purpose of self-treatment or to meet their urgent financial needs. The relief amount ranges between rupees fifteen thousands to rupees fifty thousand and has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund. Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyr police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs,” he added.
