JKBOPEE conducts entrance examination for various medical courses

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) today conducted the entrance examination of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Technology/B. Sc. Para-Medical Courses-2021 in the UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh in a smooth manner.

Chairman JKBOPEE, Shafiq Ahmad Raina, who was personally monitoring the conduct of Examination, congratulated the staff for smooth and transparent conduct of the Examination across both the UT’s.

He said that though the Board has a precedent of conducting such examinations with utmost expertise and precision, this one was challenging in view of the prevailing circumstances due to spread of COVID-19. He added that utmost care was taken to maintain the Social distancing and follow all the SOP’s issued by the Government from time to time during the examination.

For the smooth conduct of examination, the Board had made elaborate arrangements to ensure the safety of the candidates appearing for the Entrance Examination at Jammu and Srinagar like security, uninterrupted supply of electricity and other measures with the active support of concerned Departments.

According to the BOPEE, the total number of candidates who had applied for the aforementioned courses were 14014 out of them 3892 were from the Jammu Division and 10122 were from Kashmir Division. In order to facilitate the candidates with due consideration to SOP’s of COVID-19, Six Centers (06) were established at Jammu for 3982 candidates and Twenty One Centers  (21) at Srinagar for 10122 candidates. Out of the total number of 3892 candidates, 3260 were present at Jammu and out of 10122 candidates, 9456 were present at Srinagar. Hence, the total percentage of attendance is 90.74 which is the highest ever been recorded amongst all other Common Entrance Tests conducted by the BOPEE.
