Five residential houses gutted in Chadoora

Budgam: Five residential houses were gutted in a blaze that broke out in Mukam Dadompora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday evening.

Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the fire broke out at a residential house and later engulfed four nearby houses.

He said that during the blaze, the residential house’s belonging to Muhammad Yaqoob Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar; Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiudin Dar; Ghulam Rasool Dar, son of Amma Dar, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, son of Muhammad Sheikh and Bashir Ahamd Sheikh, son of Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh, were damaged, and property worth lakhs of rupees damaged.

By the time Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot and doused the flames, five residential houses had suffered extensive damage.

The cause of fire is being ascertained, officials said.

Meanwhile, locals have appealed the district administration to rehabilitate the affected families.
