Deputations, individuals call on Baseer Khan

Srinagar: Several deputations and individuals today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan at Civil Secretariat here and apprised him of their grievances and demands.

The delegations raised various issues of public importance of their respective localities and sought the intervention of the Advisor in this regard.

A delegation of Bemina Coordination Committee which is an amalgamation of 72 committees met the Advisor and raised several issues. At the outset the Coordination Committee expressed their gratitude to Lieutenant Governor and Advisor Baseer Khan for the development of park in their area and for providing wayside amenities to the commuters in the locality.

They also raised certain demands which include expansion of service lane/subway and parking space for the residential cum official colony housing many government offices. They also demanded macadamization of internal roads of Ibrahim colony, Sir Syed Colony (Sector 1, 2) Abu Baker colony, besides certain public utilities including a graveyard.

A delegation of Hazratbal Coordination Committee raised certain public issues and demanded Public Health Centre with specialized Gynaecology and Paediatric sections in the erstwhile hospital which has now been shifted. They also demanded macadamization of all the interior roads and lanes in the area although while mentioning that substantial part of the roads have been macadamized and the work on left out roads and lanes need to be taken up on priority.

The Committee members also apprised the Advisor about the damaged water pipeline in the area.

Another delegation of Relief Organisation also met the Advisor and raised several issues. Likewise, a delegation of Retired Employees of JK Cements Limited also raised their several issues before the Advisor.

Similarly, another delegation from Magam Budgam demanded macadamization of link roads in their locality.

Another delegation from Hablish Devsar of Kulgam district also highlighted several developmental activities in their locality.

Likewise, several delegations and individuals from Srinagar and other areas also called on Advisor and raised their matters pertaining to various departments like PDD, Rural Development, Tourism and other departments

Advisor gave patient hearing to all the delegations and individuals and assured an early redressal of their genuine demands and issues. He said that the issues projected by them would be taken up with the concerned departments for immediate redressal. In some cases, Advisor also gave on spot instructions to the concerned officers for redressal of the grievances.
