“The location of the camp was chosen to give the cadets of North Kashmir an exposure to the NCC environment. The camp would not have been possible to be conducted, without the support from Army. The physical conduct of the camp was made possible by the Army formation at Machil which provided the security, infrastructure and administrative assistance,” the PRO said.

“145 NCC Cadets from Schools and Colleges of Uri, Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore, Pattan, Bandipora, Baramulla and Border Town of Machil participated in the Annual Training Camp. All Covid-19 protocols were strictly followed, during the camp,” he said.

The PRO further said: “The main objective of this camp was to continue conducting training in North Kashmir, especially in border towns, to unite the youths with the mainstream. Apart from imparting basic training, NCC cadets were selected to represent Kashmir in the JK&L contingent during the Republic Day Camp 2022.”

“During the camp, various activities, including physical training, drill, weapon training etc were conducted. Cultural and social activities like Swach Bharat Drive, traffic awareness, tree plantation etc, were also conducted. The cadets got an opportunity to interact and learn from each other in the camp and were exposed to camp life,” said Col Emron Musavi .

“The Instructor staff and the Associated NCC officers also conducted classes on leadership, discipline, national integration and motivation. Cadets took part in adventure activities like trekking the adjacent heights of Machil & visit border villages to impart social services to the civilians. Senior Officers from Security Forces visited the NCC cadets during the camp to motivate them to be good citizen of the country. Meritorious cadets were awarded for various extraordinary activities & contribution made during the camp,” he added.
