Dr Samoon holds meeting regarding implementation of MSDE’s Covid Crash Course

Srinagar: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today convened a meeting regarding implementation of Covid Customized Crash Course in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pertinently, this innovative training programme has been initiated by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for Corona warriors to meet the deficit of skilled healthcare professionals and augment existing healthcare system across India.

In this regard, Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated 2500 targets under PMKVY 3.0 Centrally Sponsored State Managed Component. However, the training of Covid warriors has already been started in the UT under Centrally Sponsored Centre Managed Component.

During the meeting, State Engagement Officer of National Skill Development Corporation (implementing agency of MSDE), made a PowerPoint presentation on Covid Crash Course guidelines.

It was decided in the meeting that the National Health Mission will be the TP for the programme, targets will be allocated to medical colleges, paramedical colleges, CHCs and PHCs. Candidates will be given classroom training for 21 days which will be followed by 90 days on-the-job training in hospitals. Candidates will be provided stipend during On-the-job training (OJT) and will be designated as Covid Warriors.

Candidates moving to other districts, other than their home district will be given boarding and lodging payouts.
