“The major gathering of Fatiha and Quran khawani, it is pertinent to mention here, will be held at Qayad Mazaar at Naseem Bagh. Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice president, Omar Abdullah, will lead the party in offering tributes to Baba-e-Qoum Hazrat Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. Besides, glowing tributes shall be paid to the late leader at the provincial and district headquarters of the party throughout the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sagar said in the statement.

Addressing the meeting, Sagar said that Political awakening of people in J&k did not emerge from a clear blue sky, but was established by Sheikh Sahib. “Sheikh Sahib’s particular achievement was to adopt a language that emphasized national identity based on social justice, secularism, and equity,” he said. He urged the party functionaries to abide by COVID-19 protocol and other health advisories on the occasion.

On the occasion, the participants recalled the great contribution of Sher-e-Kashmir towards the socio-political emancipation of the people of J&k, and paid earnest tributes to him.
