Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 89 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the number of infections to 3,25,618, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 73 were from Kashmir and 16 were from the Jammu division, they added.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 48 cases followed by 11 in Budgam district.

Moreover, 88 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including, 48 from Jammu and 40 from Kashmir division, officials said.

They also said that so far 67.63 percent of population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, officials said, there were 45 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,25,618 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,320 are active positive cases across the UT, while as 3,19,889 persons have recovered and 4,409 have died – 2,243 in Kashmir and 2,166 in Jammu division.
