J&K adds 166 COVID-19 cases, one more death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 166 fresh COVID-19 cases that took its tally to 3,24,979, while one more fatality pushed the death toll to 4,406, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 137 were reported from the Kashmir division and 29 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 77, followed by 16 in Budgam district.

Moreover, 103 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 67 from Kashmir and 36 from Jammu division, officials said.

They also said that so far 64.64 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.

There are 44 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in Jammu and Kashmir. No fresh case has been reported since last evening, they said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,24,979 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,211 are active positive cases across the UT, while 3,19,362 persons have recovered so far, and 4,406 have died – 2,241 in Kashmir and2,165 in Jammu division.
