Srinagar: The three-member administrative sub-committee on Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan here to discuss the functioning of the Association and status of Cricket in the Union Territory.

The committee comprising of Brig (Retrd) Anil Gupta, advocate Sunil Sethi and former cricketer Mithun Manhas met the Advisor at his residence and apprised him regarding the sports facilities and sports promotion in J&K. Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul was also present on the occasion.

While interacting with the visiting sub-committee members, Advisor Khan reiterated the commitment of the government led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the development and the upgradation of sports infrastructure and in particular to game of cricket in the region.

He also lauded the role of JKCA in developing sports culture among J&K youth and added that various steps are being taken to encourage cricket in the UT at the grass-root level.

He also expressed his hope that the Association would continue in its endeavor to promote the game in the UT.

In June this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) formed a three-member administrative sub-committee to look after the affairs of the JKCA.
