Dr Samoon emphasised upon both the officers and administration of the KITE College to look for ways and means to start the admission process in the college. He stated that the college has a fine infrastructure and deserves to be put to good use.

Dr Samoon also asked the administrators of the college to fix reasonable fees so that children of poor families could afford admission there. He assured the college of his full support in filling the seats of the college besides establishment of an ITI there. He stressed on them to engage quality manpower for imparting training to the admitted students.

In another meeting attended in person by above officers along with Development Commissioner (Works), GM and AGMs of JKPCC, principals of polytechnic colleges the Principal Secretary reviewed the admission process and infrastructural facilities raised at the polytechnic colleges at Bandipora, Kupwara and Shopian.

The meeting was attended by MD JKPCC and other officers of the department through video conferencing from Jammu.

Dr Samoon said that these colleges are being established in frontier districts and are set to cater to most underprivileged populations living in far off areas of these districts. He directed the executing agencies to complete all the civil works in the ensuing working season. He remarked that it is injustice with these students to compel them to move to Srinagar for seeking technical education.

He further asked them to enhance their pace of work as most of the payments has already been made to them and the rest amount would also be released in due course of time.

The Principal Secretary also asked the concerned principals of these colleges to monitor both the pace and quality of work. He asked them to ensure that all the components mentioned in DPR are created as per the standard specifications.

Dr Samoon also watched the videos of all the colleges under construction in these districts. He also asked the SDD officers to take all the measures for taking in hand the process of admissions in these colleges from the upcoming academic session.

Dr Samoon was informed by the MD, JKPCC that all these colleges would be completed at the set deadlines with few blocks to be handed over in a couple of weeks.

He was assured that the admissions to these colleges would be made as soon as these colleges are delivered to the department by the executing agencies constructing them.
