Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 93 fresh cases of coronavirus on Monday, taking the cumulative number of infected persons to 3,24,295, while one fresh death was reported in the union territory in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 50 were from Kashmir and 43 were from the Jammu division of the union territory, the officials said.

They said Doda district recorded the highest number of 28 cases, followed by 12 cases in Srinagar district.

The death toll in the union territory due to the pandemic was 4,403 as one fresh death was reported in the past 24 hours from the Jammu region, they said, adding that 203 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 114 from Jammu division and 89 from Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the officials said, there were 43 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory as no fresh case was reported since Sunday evening.

They also said so far 62.62 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,24,295 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,054 are active positive cases across the UT, while as 3,18,838 have recovered and 4,403 have died – 2,240 in Kashmir and 2,163 in Jammu division.
