Srinagar: Two militants of outfit Hizbul- Mujahideen were killed in an encounter in Krew area of Pampore in Awantipora of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
A top Police officer told GNS that two militants were killed in the gunfight.
He further said that one of the slain militant has been identified as Musaib Ahmad from Khrew while as other one’s identity is yet to be ascertained.
Both slain militants were associated with Hizb. From their possession one AK-47 rifle, one pistol and ammunition has been recovered, the officer added.
Earlier, reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Krew.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
