Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah, on Wednesday visited Baba Nagri; Wangat to condole with the Mian household particularly with the Party Senior leader and former Minister Mian Altaf Ahmed on the demise of his revered father and noted socio-religious and political personality Hazrat Mian Bashir Ahmed Sahib Larvi.

Among others, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, VP Ahsan Pardesi, YNC President (Jammu) Aijaz Jan, Convener Pahari Cell Syed Rafiq Shah, Shahrukh Nasir, YNC District president Srinagar Bilal Ahmad, GM Mir Saqi accompanied the party vice president to Baba Nagri, Wangat.

On the occasion, the Party Vice President did the Dastar Bandi of Party’s senior leader Mian Altaf Ahmed, who was also presented with a Taziyat Nama by the Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani on behalf of the party rank and file conveying the unison with him and the entire household in their hour of grief and sorrow.

The party Vice President, along with numerous other party functionaries present on the occasion, offered Fatiha for the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest echelons of Jannat.  Besides senior party functionaries, various YNC functionaries, block functionaries of Amirakadal were also present on the occasion.

While condoling with Mian Altaf Sahib and the bereaved family, Omar Abdullah said that in the passing away of Baba Ji, the guiding light has gone out of our lives. He said that Baba Ji’s struggle and efforts to bring the deprived and marginalized sections of society into the mainstream will continue to remain unparalleled.

“A man of profound knowledge, superior integrity and unparalleled dynamism, he was deeply concerned about the socio-political and economic emancipation of our Gujjar brethren. His contribution towards the upliftment of marginalized, and underprivileged sections of our society particularly Gujjars will inspire many in the future as well. Baba Ji had made peacebuilding his lifelong mission; his efforts towards strengthening the bonds of amity, and brotherhood among different sections of society in J&K will be remembered for all the times to come,” he said.

“During his lifetime, Baba Ji carried forward the valuable heirloom of traditions, which were handed over to him from generation after generation. On his demise, I pay my earnest tributes to his departed soul and pray to almighty Allah to grant him highest echelons in Jannat and much-needed patience to the bereaved family members, particularly Mian Altaf Sahib, Mian Sarfaraz Sahib and millions of his followers and devotees of his to bear the irreparable loss,” he added.

While interacting with the visiting party members, Mian Altaf Sahib expressed gratitude to the visiting party colleagues, and numerous workers, delegates and functionaries for their condolence messages and consoling words.

Later, Party Vice President paid obeisance at the Hazrat Baba Ji Sahib Larvi’s final resting place, where he also offered a Chaddar.

On the occasion, the party vice president, along with other party functionaries offered Fatiha for the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed in the highest echelons of Jannat.
