Srinagar: Apni Party delegation headed by Ghulam Hassan Mir on Monday visited the residence of former minister Mian Altaf at Baba Nagri in Ganderbal and expressed its profound solidarity with the bereaved family over the demise of his father and veteran Gujjar leader Mian Bashir Larvi.

In a statement issued here, Mir termed the demise of Mian Bashir Saheb as deeply saddening and an irremediable loss that has left a huge void in both social and political spheres alike.

“Mian Saheb was a well-known socio-religious leader who has left behind a great legacy of Sufi religious teachings and human values while cherishing the virtues of peace and harmony among the people without any religious or sectarian barriers,” he said.

Mir said that Mian Saheb’s contribution in upliftment of Gujjar-Bakarwal community through his tireless efforts shall be remembered for times to come.

“His extraordinary services to the people in general and especially for the Gujjar-Bakerwal Community have been immense. It is for these extraordinary services that he was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award by the government of India,” Mir observed.

The delegation led by Ghulam Hassan Mir prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family in this time of gloom.

During his visit, Mir was accompanied by Apni Party District President Ganderbal Javid Mir, Nazir Ahmad Mir, Sheikh Showkat and Nazir Kharay.
