Div Com inspects progress of work on Gadigarh PHC building

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, today conducted an extensive tour of Gadigarh area of District Jammu and inspected the progress of work on Primary Health Centre building and the flood hit damaged bridge over Landoi Choi Nullah.

At PHC, the Div Com took a round of various sections of the building to get first hand appraisal of the healthcare facilities and available infrastructure.

The concerned engineers apprised the Div Com about the works completed so far and ongoing works. It was informed that the work on the main building has been completed, while   allied finishing works are in progress.

The Div Com directed the Executive Engineer to expedite the pace and ensure quality specifications and completion of all pending works within a stipulated time frame.

The Div Com also directed immediate renovation of the boundary wall and   drainage system. He directed to complete all the pending work so that the Mega facility is dedicated to the public at the earliest.

While inspecting the mortuary section of the PHC, the Div Com was informed that Tenders have been floated for the remaining work.

Presently the Primary Health Centre is functioning from an old building and the upcoming new building would provide better medical care facilities to the people of Rohi Morh, Gadigarh, Bhour, Inderanagar and adjoining villages.

The Div Com said that as per the directions of office of the Lieutenant Governor all    health sector works need to be expedited for strengthening the health care infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the Union Territory administration is committed to provide better health care facilities to the people.

Meanwhile, the Div Com visited the site where a bridge over Landoi Choi Nullah was damaged due to recent floods   and directed the Superintendent Engineer PWD to prepare a project report/estimates for reconstruction of the bridge, as it connects several villages to the main Satwari- R S Pura road. He asked the concerned to start the work at the earliest so that people do not face any inconvenience.

During the visit, the Div Com was accompanied by Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Superintendent Engineer, PWD (R&B), concerned Executive Engineer besides senior officers of Health Services.
