Srinagar: Principal Secretary Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare and Horticulture Departments, Navin Choudhary, and Principal Accountant General (audit) J&K, Pramod Kumar, today jointly chaired a meeting to discuss the clearance of pending audit paras with the departments.

Director General Horticulture Kashmir, Director Horticulture Jammu, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, Director Fisheries J&K, Director Agriculture Jammu/Kashmir, Director Sericulture J&K, Director Command Area Development Jammu/Kashmir, Director Floriculture Jammu/Kashmir and other concerned attended the meeting in person and through virtual mode.

At the outset, the meeting enquired about the pending and settlement of audit paras of the respective departments with Principal Accountant General (audit) J&K.

Speaking at the occasion, the Principal Secretary impressed upon the heads of the departments and other concerned to submit the pending audit para replies with the Pr AG (audit) office as soon as possible for the speedy settlement of all audit paras of their respective departments.

The meeting decided to coordinate via email between Pr AG Office and heads of offices for which further communication will be carried out at the given emails till an application is created where the correspondence with respect to replies of audit paras will take place.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Accountant General (audit), Pramod Kumar termed the auditing process as an efficient and effective way for ensuring accountability and transparent governance, he said that it is a two-way process where different departments and the AG’s office get involved for auditing.

The meeting also discussed the issues viz final audit reports for onward submission, actual withdrawals, UCs etc.

To this, Kumar said that all the issues would be sorted out in order to make the auditing process smoother as all the government departments are working towards good governance.
