Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today lauded Chanu Saikhom Mirabai for winning the Silver Medal at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

The Advisor exuded delight that the medallist has given the nation something to really feel proud about. He maintained that the achievement is extraordinary not only for herself but for the nation itself.

Advisor Khan also maintained that it is the recognition of India’s talent at the global stage besides the fructification of her perseverance and hard work. He said that she would long act as an inspiration and icon for the youth of the nation.

The Advisor also expressed his deep appreciation that the man behind this success originally hails from the Basholi area of J&K. He said the coaches play an important role in chiseling and polishing the talent of sportspersons and the role of Vijay Sharma, her trainer for a long time is worth eulogizing and to be written in golden letters.

Khan said that the success of Olympic medallist Mirabai will not only inspire others to make efforts but would act as a benchmark for our youth to work hard and make the mark. He said that it would definitely help us in producing many more international medallists in coming years from the country.
